Five A Day In Under 60 Seconds...
A green smoothie is the perfect way to start a day and get you on the right path. The recipe that I will be including in this blog post contains all 5 of your fruits and veggies for the day as well as a handsome amount of fibre and a helping of healthy fats.
Ingredients:
Half an avocado
A granny smith apple
3 large handfuls of spinach
2 handfuls of green grapes
100g of cucumber
as well as a pinch of grated ginger
When preparing the smoothie it is important to put your liquid of the choice in the smoothie maker before the fruit and veg. The liquid of choice is up to you however I have found that almond milk works particularly well with the ingredients outlined as it adds to the creaminess of the smoothie alongside the avocado. After all of the ingredients are inside the blender start with a few short bursts to break down the larger pieces of fruit and then introduce up to 5 ice cubes to make the consistency thicker. Finish with a long blast of about 25 seconds and then enjoy!
